Since the global shipbuilding market remains weak, DSIC shall usher in a peak time for research and construction of new products this year, “forced” by such market condition, where there are 10 new shiptypes under design and construction, together with 4 ships delivered one after another.
Among the 10 new major shiptypes to be marketed by DSIC, there are 3900TEU, 9200TEU and 10000TEU container ships, drilling barge and 300k DWT VLCC with high tech and high value added. Meanwhile, those products have achieved the leading level in many taches among the similar brandnew-generation products, such as energy efficiency and environmental protection, cargo hold capacity and propulsion performance, etc.
As introduced, there is a breakthrough in the key technology forhigh-efficient rudder design on 3900TEU container ship, which has broken the European technical monopolization, with quick-response indicator achieved the international leading level and energy efficient indicator higher than the similar products abroad. Hence, DSIC has become the first shipbuilder in China to possess the technology of high-efficient rudder design. The ultra-type container ship is the highest in demand and most stable shiptype among the high-tech and high value added ships while 9200TEU and 10000TEU ones are the latest developing trend and representative products in jumbolization and high speed of container ships. In this way, the ordering and construction of 10000TEU and above container ship signifies that DSIC has set a foot in the new field of large container ships. In the design and construction of energy-efficient type 300k DWT VLCC, DSIC has acquired the patent in anti-sediment ballast tank design. Last, the drilling barge has made up the gap in the similar domestic products, which has been highly recognized by the owner for its design performance..
DSIC adopts a streamline construction pattern, where the more new shiptypes to construct mean the more technical and procurement preparations for several production lines while the great changes in management pattern and coordination with other production lines take place. Normally, more than 300 types of materials and equipment and tens of work types to coordinate are required for construction of such a large ship within couple of months. To cope with the new challenges for more new product designs and higher difficulty in construction, DSIC puts forward a proposal to “seek for the quality increase”, so as to enhance the systematic and prospective work planning and ensure the stable operation of production and operation system.
In the construction of various products, the enterprise has constantly improved the precision management system and kept trying for new patterns of material and equipment procurement through enhancement of design optimization and escalation of design quality so as to further squeeze the cost and promote the energy efficiency.
